Ethics: The mental health field and insidious trauma Description: This training identifies and explores ethical considerations for the mental health field and insidious trauma. Participants will be equipped with an ethical decision-making model; and develop/expand a plan to address insidious trauma ethical considerations in their work. Prerequisite: MUST have attended a “General: The mental health field and insidious trauma” training. For: Mental health field professionals; however, all who attend a General are welcome. CEs: 3hrs for LPC and LMFT; certificate of attendance for other participants. Trainer: Gwendolyn “Gwen” Downing (she/her) LPC; Oklahoma board of behavioral health licensure (BBHL) approved to provide LPC and LMFT CEs Insidious trauma: The daily incidents of marginalization, objectification, dehumanization, intimidation, et cetera that are experienced by members of groups targeted by racism, heterosexism, ageism, ableism, sexism, and other forms of oppression, and groups impacted by poverty (VAWnet)
